Following child birth, mommies may experience changes to their bodies and lifestyle. Besides recovering from the delivery or (major) operation, mommies also need to adapt to taking care of a new life. There are increased roles and responsibilities. There may be anxiety, uncertainty, discomfort, sleep deprivation and fatigue. There are still hormones within the mommies that can cause mood swing or vulnerability in their state of mind. The first month of recovery is most crucial, i.e. confinement month, as that would determine the mom's health.
After 9 months of pregnancy, mommies may have lost contact with certain muscles engagement. This may include the pelvic floor, the back and the abdominal muscles. Pelvic floor is a very important muscle as it governs continence as well as forms the base for the core muscles. Having a strong core not only protects your back, it also improves your overall posture which in turn improve your breathing and blood circulation to your internal organs. Your back muscles helps to support the spine and thus reduce the risk of injury to your spine and the inter vertebrate discs. Having good back muscles is a balance of flexibility and strength. Too much flexibility without strength risks injury while having strength without flexibility risk straining your back muscles or having muscles spasms due to tightness. Abdominal muscles help to support your spine and your back. It is also important to maintain the strength and flexibility of your abdomen.
Besides the physical wellness, mommies also need to relax and recharge her body and her mind.
